| Punta Sur: | ||
| This is an example of my newest work. This painting is full of texture and deep rich colors. While scuba diving on the Punta Sur Reef in Cozumel I was dazzled by the sunlight sparkling in and on the deep blue water. There are reputed to be 5 distinct colors of blue in the waters surrounding Cozumel and it's become my passion to attempt to articulate them in paint, a feat that I have discovered is virtually impossible: the blue water is ALIVE and very difficult to capture.
This is my most successful attempt to date and I'm thrilled to be exhibiting it for the first time in the StutzArtspace Gallery Show opening on August 1, 2008: Summertime Blues. |
